What is Domain Validation?
A domain becomes validated when Darkscape has verified that the DNS servers for a domain have NS1.DARKSCAPE.NET and NS2.DARKSCAPE.NET set as the DNS servers.

How can I check this?
One method is to use a public WHOIS website. If you go to http://darkscape.net/whois and enter example.com, you'll see these two Name Servers listed:
    Name Server: A.IANA-SERVERS.NET
Name Server: B.IANA-SERVERS.NET
What we are checking for is NS1.DARKSCAPE.NET and NS2.DARKSCAPE.NET

How often do you check?
We check every few minutes (actually we check every minute, but telling you that might make you impatient, no? :)

Do you check forever and ever and ever?
No, we generally only check for about 2 days, and then we stop validating the name. With the number of domains added to Darkscape daily, this would eventually become a logistically impossible process.

But how does this even make sense? Why not just add my name to the configs?
Simply, we don't want to put a lot of unused configuration data onto live servers. Being responsible and as accountable as possible is one of our top priorities.

I got an email about my domain becoming deactivated, what gives?
The domain might have expired, best to check that out right away!
